Milestones Achieved

We are pleased to announce our 47th Anniversary since our first response for emergency ambulance services!

It is with great joy that the agency continues to provide that same community service that was envisioned and embarked upon over 47 years ago! In addition, we are delighted to continue providing Continuing Medical Education (CME) for our Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), training community members in CPR and First Aid, offering opportunities for community members to become EMTs, providing Emergency Medical Standby for community events, and sponsoring a Youth Corps/EMS Explorer Post for our local youth (age 14 and up)

With that said, we continue to look forward to the future!

More recently:

In the first quarter of 2020, the Glen Oaks VAC deployed the first (and only) volunteer-based Advanced Life Support (Paramedic) Program in Eastern Queens in order to provide a greater level of care for our community residents.

During the peak of the COVID-19 Pandemic in NYC, the Glen Oaks VAC was called upon to provide crucial mutual-aid assistance to FDNY-EMS in order to help handle their extreme call volume. The agency successfully provided both BLS and ALS level care for the entire duration of the emergency activation.
